Fall Clinics
|
The University of Mount Union swimming and diving teams will host three fall swim clinics on three Sundays -- September 15, 22 and 29.
These technique clinics will benefit developmental swimmers of any ability level looking to tune-up for the season. Three days to focus on separate aspects of competitive swimming ensure adequate time is spent on every skill.
Swimmers do not need to be specialists in the strokes covered to participate and improve.
Athletes will work individually with collegiate coaches and swimmers.
Each clinic costs $40 or you can attend all three clinics for $105 ($35 per clinic)

Sun. Sept. 15 - Butterfly & Breaststroke
This clinic is dedicated to the short axis strokes of Butterfly and Breaststroke. Swimmers will learn to maximize propulsion through proper body undulation in addition to arm and leg strokes. The staff will work closely with athletes to use strategy and skill to approach these strokes that many swimmers find to be the most difficult.
Sun. Sept. 22 - Freestyle & Backstroke
Emphasis will be placed on perfect posture in the water. Speed in these long axis strokes is greatly dependent upon the fundamentals of body position. Coaches and staff will work individually with swimmers to achieve correct technique while indicating common errors.
Sun. Sept. 29 —Starts, Turns, & Underwater Travel
This clinic will closely address very specialized aspects of every race. Participants will learn to create advantages out of skills that less successful swimmers ignore. Much of this day will focus on feedback toward individual flaws.
