Event Description

Indy STEM Camps

Minecraft Virtual Realms Camp | Session 1

For campers in grades 2-8 who have a current and active Mojang account and who have access to a PC or MAC with internet.   This unique online experiences gives campers an opportunity to participate in a Minecraft Realms world under the supervision of two of our Indy Stem Camps counselors.   Each Minecraft Realms camp will have a maximum of 9 campers working collaboratively with each other and with our in-game counselors.  Counselors will play in-world with campers and communicate with campers via Zoom and the in-game chat.  As a result, campers should be somewhat self-sufficient and be able to read and type using the keyboard.  Campers who have never played Minecraft on a PC or MAC or who get frustrated easily should refrain from enrolling in this camp.

IMPORTANT:  Do Not Complete registration until AFTER you have either confirmed your child's PC/MAC Mojang Username or have completed a one-time purchase of a Mojang account by visiting https://account.mojang.com/

MOJANG ACCOUNT:  Prior to registering for camp each child MUST have a Mojang Minecraft Account and Username.   This is a one-time cost of $26.95 and will give your child the ability to play Minecraft on any computer that has the java version of Minecraft installed.   To create a Mojang account and to purchase Minecraft follow this 4-Step Guide that we have prepared specifically for parents who are wanting to sign their child up for an Indy Stem Camps  Virtual Minecraft Camp.

TECH PREP:  In order to participate each camper must have access to a PC/MAC with java Minecraft installed.  Additionally, the PC/MAC must have a camera and mic for Zoom so that each camper can join the camp Zoom video conference that will run simultaneously with the camp.   On the first day of camp parents are asked to assist their child in accessing the Zoom camp video conference and in loading the Minecraft Realms world.  Parents should only need to be present for about the first 15 minutes on day one of camp.

FRIEND REQUEST:  One of the great things about Minecraft is the opportunity to play together with friends.  As such, during the registration process parents will have an opportunity to enter the names of friends who may also be signing up for the Minecraft Virtual Realms Camp.   Please be sure to confirm that any requested friends are also signing up for the same camp session.  Though we cannot guarantee that friends will be placed in the same camp, we will make every attempt to accommodate these requests.

REFUND POLICY:  Since Indy Stem Camps first began offering Minecraft Camps we have conducted over 200 camps serving more than 4,000 campers.  However, these will be our first-ever virtual camps.   Though we have gone to great effort preparing and planning for the challenges that are inherent in a virtual setting, we hope you will join us in recognizing that this endeavor will undoubtedly be a learning experience for us, for the campers, and for you as parents.  With thin in mind, for this first round of virtual camp offerings we will honor requests for full-refunds provided your refund request is made prior to the start of the second day of camp.
