DePauw Women's Soccer Virtual Academy

Every year we host an unparalleled Soccer and Leadership Academy, and we didn’t want Covid-19 to hinder this experience! So, we have put our brains together to bring to you the first ever DPWS Virtual Academy. We hit on all aspects of a normal camp, with some bonus sessions, such as Leadership and Nutrition. Our goal for this Academy is to give you a taste of what DePauw University has to offer from an academic standpoint; get a feel of the Women’s Soccer Program as you interact with current players; and chat with the coaches to learn more about the recruiting process and what it takes to become a successful collegiate athlete.

General Timeline:

9-9:45 am - Virtual Tour and Admissions Q & A
10-10:45 am - Student Athlete Panel
11-11:45 am - Zoom Soccer Workout
1-2 pm - Break
2-2:45 pm - Sport Psychology Presentation
3-3:45 pm - Nutrition Presentation
4-4:45 pm - Leadership Presentation

Virtual Tour of DePauw University with live Admissions commentary
Q & A Session with an Admissions Counselor
Student Panel with current DePauw Women’s Soccer players
Live Zoom Workout led by coaches and demonstrated by a DePauw Soccer player – This will give us the opportunity to watch you train in a live scenario

A Sport Psychology Presentation and Q & A with Dr. Kathleen Mellano, Springfield College Department of Science and Athletic Training

Elite Package Includes:

Each athlete will be asked to send in a sample email to a coach, including a “resume” and video of themselves training. We will send each athlete various drills and activities we would like for them to perform in the video, and they will also be able to provide game footage (optional), and we will critique their email, resume, and video, and provide a video response with suggestions on what to change, add, and/or delete. This process will help them in their overall recruiting process, and will cost less than an actual recruiting service!

Premier Package Includes:

Gold package + Select package + Elite Package +
We will set up a 30 minute Zoom call with the athlete and her parent(s) and walk them through our suggestions of their email, resume, and video. This personal time with the athlete will allow her and her parents to ask the head coach Cristin Allen suggestions on where to improve and how to improve, in addition to allowing time for conversation regarding more specific questions about DePauw University and the Women’s Soccer Program, and questions about the recruiting process, in general!
