Event Description

2019 YOUTH SUMMER CAMPS

The Youth Summer Baseball Camps are for those entering Kindergarten through entering 7th graders. There are 4 separate camps offered throughout the summer.

All youth camps are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day and from Monday through Thursday.  Check In will take place the first day of each camp from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the stadium.

JULY 8TH - 11TH
ENTERING GRADES: K - 7th
CHECK-IN: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM, Day 1
TIME: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Daily
COST: $195 per Camper

COST INCLUDES: $5 towards the "Snack Bank" for the week during camp breaks a Samford water bottle and camp t-shirt.

INSTRUCTION: Campers will be filmed hitting & have their swing analyze. The camp will cover fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning.

GROUPS: The campers will be divided by age into small groups, keeping the coach to player ratio low. They will have the opportunity to be placed with friends at camp.

GAMES: At the end of day 2, 3 and 4 the campers will participate in scrimmage games. The games will include constant instruction from staff on proper ways to play.

WEATHER: The New Indoor hitting facility will be used to battle both heat and precipitation this summer.

SAMFORD BASEBALL & CAMP STAFF: The Summer Baseball Camp staff will be directed by Associate Head Coach Tony David with assistance from the entire Samford baseball staff, current and former Samford baseball players, as well as other college players, college coaches and local high school coaches.

Casey Dunn, Samford Head Coach, has led the Samford baseball to ten of the best seasons in the program’s history & NCAA Regional Final in ‘12 after an All-American career at Auburn that followed his playing three seasons in Royals organization.

Tony David, Associate Head Coach/Camp Coordinator, coaches the infielders, assists with hitters and has been in charge of camps for over 20 years. Oversees all aspects of the camps: registration, check-in, and instructing at all the camps.

Tyler Shrout, Pitching Coach, handles all aspects of the pitching staff and assists in recruiting efforts after several successful years as Pitching coach at Lipscomb and Birmingham Southern.

Hunter Morris, Assistant Coach, joins our staff from Auburn where he was an assistant coach. Morris was a 2nd round draft pick and played several years of professional baseball after being named SEC Player of the Year.
 

REFUND POLICY: There is a NO REFUND policy for the camp. If you are unable to attend for any reason, we will happily transfer the camp fee to a later camp.

Casey Dunn Baseball Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
