Event Description

2022 SUMMER ELITE CATCHING SKILLS CAMP

Volunteer Assistant Coach Easton Herring will be developing and leading the Elite Catching Skills Camp. Herring was a four year starting catcher in the collegiate baseball ranks, and in one season led the Heartland Conference in runners thrown out. Herring comes to Virginia Tech after spending 3 seasons at Wichita State baseball, learning under former major league manager, Eric Wedge.

This Camp will include:

  • Catching fundamentals
  • Drills to improve positioning, receiving, transitions and more.
  • Introduction and refining of several catching techniques to help prepare the catchers for
success in all aspects of the art of catching!
  • Catchers will spend half of the camp time receiving catching instruction with Coach
Herring and team members and the other half will be catching pitchers in the live
portion of Elite Pitching Skills Camp.
  • Camp will begin at 4:00pm.
