Maker-neering – Engineering with Maker Tools
Location: Marymount University, Main Campus 2807 N. Glebe Rd. Arlington VA
2-week intensive course earning three credits. Class runs 9 am – 5 pm (Monday-Friday). Evening assignments, field trips, and group activities included.
You will earn three college credits, which will transfer when ready. This course is a hands-on, project-based introduction to modern digital fabrication tools engineers use for rapid prototyping. Students will learn the basics of computer-aided design (CAD), manufacture original 3D designs using three desktop 3D printing technologies (FDM, resin, and bioprinting), explore the fundamentals of electronic circuits, build animatronics with Arduino microcontrollers and create immersive virtual reality experiences for the Oculus Quest 2. No prior experience with any of these technologies is needed.

Refund Policy: Due to the nature of the Summer Institute course program, refunds will ONLY be considered in cases of extreme need: family emergency or unforeseen illness when we receive a written notice stating that the student is physically unable to participate. The Vice President of Affairs will review refund requests. All approved refunds will incur a 15% administration fee which will be deducted from your refund amount.
