The Elite ID+ Camp is designed for the most serious and dedicated players. The Elite ID+ Camp is for players interested in becoming a college soccer player.

This one-day camp will have two on-field sessions.  The morning session will consist of small-sided matches (7v7) while the afternoon session will be full-sided matches (11v11).

In addition, our camp will offer a unique mental training component to help you in this very important part of your development as a player.

There will be an opportunity for any interested campers to tour the campus with an OU Student Ambassador.

All components of the Elite ID+ Camp are included in your registration fee.

Our camps are designed for players to get maximum exposure in front of our coaching staff and this is a great opportunity for players to be trained and evaluated by our coaches. We will also have other college coaches in attendance to observe and evaluate the participants.

Mental Training Overview: One of our unique components to our Elite ID+ Camps is the Mental Training (Sports Psychology) Component. We will include mental training ideas and concepts as part of the camp and in the coaching sessions to help introduce this area of their development as complete soccer players. This module delves into becoming more positive athlete; becoming more positive to yourself and towards your teammates.

In the Mental Training Session, we will review the TAP Assessment as well as lead a conversation on Sports Psychology.

TAP Assessment: Participants will be take and utilize the TAP (Troutwine Athletic Profile) Assessment. You can find out more about the TAP assessment at http://takethetap.com/.

In 2017, Oakland Women’s Soccer partnered with the TAP, and our coaching staff and student-athletes are using this invaluable tool to help them understand and grow in mental toughness areas through several mindset developmental tools. All those who register for the Elite ID+ Camp will receive a direct link with instructions on how to take this test and will receive the report from TAP (about 1 week prior to the camp). This will allow you to take the TAP at your convenience and begin reviewing your results immediately.

All mental training aspects are led by Juan Pablo Favero. Besides leading the Oakland women’s soccer team, Favero also serves as a Sports Psychology Consultant and has worked with many other teams and athletes helping them with various mental training aspects. He holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and has worked with business leaders and organizations. In addition, JuanPa has published several articles on Sports Psychology and Leadership topics.

In 2015 Coach Favero led the partnership between San Diego State and The Right Profile to become the first women’s soccer program to parter with the TAP, which is an invaluable tool to help athletes understand and grow in mental toughness areas through several mindset developmental tools.

In Depth Sports Psych Session - Self Talk & Affirmation: In addition to reviewing the TAP Assessment, there will be a session on Sports Psychology where you will learn tools and strategies to improve the mental side of your game.

The topic covered in this in-depth session is the all-important mental skill of positive self-talk. We will teach the campers how they can begin to take control of what they say to themselves and change any negative thoughts to positive talk. We will also help athletes in the development of personal affirmation statements. This is what Coach Favero calls the “Swiss-Army Knife” of mental training. These two very practical and yet very important areas will help athletes see an immediate impact in their mental game and athletic performance.
