Event Description
SPLASH Adult Classes
The SPLASH swim program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point gives community members a way to improve range of motion, strength, flexibility and balance in a way that is focused on adults. Along with the physical benefits of exercise, participants are able to socially interact with other members and instructors during the class. The warm-water pool creates a low-impact and therapeutic environment for physical activity. Classes are geared towards adults of all ability levels and can be modified for any level of participation.
Participants are advised to seek consultation from their doctor regarding safe participation in SPLASH. This should be handed in or submitted during registration.
All classes are conducted in the therapeutic pool in Marshfield Clinic Health System Champions Hall (formerly Health Enhancement Center), 2050 Fourth Ave. at UW-Stevens Point.
The therapeutic pool water temperature is maintained at 89 degrees with an air temperature of 95 degrees. The pool is easily accessible with a constant depth of 3'5". Locker rooms are adjacent to the pool and are free for participants. A metered parking lot is located outside the pool facility with handicap spots available. All aquatic instructors are students in the UW-Stevens Point Health Science program and provide a fun and energetic workout environment.
All adult classes are $80.00 for one session.
