Athletes will be trained with some of the same drills and techniques used to train our student-athletes. We strive to give you an experience you will never forget!

CHECK-IN
Clinic check-in takes place from 9:00am-9:15am in the lobby of the Bear Athletic Center.

CLINIC LOCATION
The primary location for the clinic will be the Grinnell Softball Field, home of the Grinnell College Softball Team. If there is inclement weather, the clinic will be moved into the Fieldhouse, located within the Bear Athletic Center.

FACILITIES
Charles Benson Bear ’39 Recreation and Athletic Center (aka the Bear Athletic Center)
Address:
1201 10th Avenue
Grinnell, IA 50112

The building is named for the late alumnus, trustee, and publishing executive Charles Bear.  Bequests of more than $10 million from the estates of Bear and his partner, A. John Gambers, supported the construction of a natatorium and fieldhouse in the two-part state-of-the-art center, which was completed in 2010. The bequests are among the largest combined gift distributions in the College's history. The Bear Athletic Center houses:
    * The 1,250 seat Darby Gymnasium, home of the Pioneer men’s and women’s basketball teams     and volleyball team;
    * A 500-seat natatorium with a 50-meter pool and movable bulkheads; and
    * A six-lane 200-meter Fieldhouse with seating for 400.
    * An 8,000 square foot fitness center with cardiovascular and strength equipment;
    * An auxillary practice gymnasium

In addition, the center houses the physical education and athletics staff and faculty, as well as classroom and practice space, climbing and bouldering walls, racquetball courts, locker rooms, equipment room, and a concession lounge with wireless Internet access and seating area.

Grinnell Softball Field
The Grinnell College softball team plays on one of the premier DIII fields in the Midwest. Highlights of the complex, opened in the spring of 2002, include a subterranean drainage system in the infield and outfield, a dirt warning track, black vinyl fencing, heated dugouts, multi-camera video system, home and visitor bullpens, a double tunnel, artificial turf-surfaced batting cage, a heated media tower and permanent bleacher seating for two hundred fans. Although not part of the current construction, field lighting is also part of the long-term plan.
