Event Description
2019 HITTING CAMP |
Samford University volunteer assistant coach Brad Moss, a former Samford Bulldog and San Francisco Giants Minor Leaguer is hosting a series of hitting camps for high school baseball players (grades 8-12) during October and November.
The camp will be held each Thursday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at J.T. Haywood Fieldhouse beyond right field of the Samford Baseball field.
The camp will include an OnBaseU mobility and stability screen that is designed specifically for baseball hitters. Each player will have their swing filmed the first and last day of camp, and based on their OnBaseU screen and swing, we will identify any physical or mechanical flaws affecting the swing. We will provide corrective exercises to improve any physical flaws as well hitting drills for any mechanical flaws. After the first week, hitters will go through a 6-week weighted bat program designed to increase bat speed and exit velocity. At the end of each day, hitters will be able to put their swings to the test during hitting games of overhand toss and machines. The cost of attending the camp is $700. All participants should bring their own bat.
