2020 Winter Beaches Basketball League

The Beaches Basketball League is a recreational basketball league designed
to introduce basketball in a fun and friendly environment.

All players will receive a Custom Rock Basketball

PRACTICES
Thursday, January 2nd and Friday, January 3rd for 4th-5th Grade Girls and Boys Divisions

Saturday January 4th for K-1st Grade Division and 2nd-3rd Grade Girls and Boys Divisions

The 4th/5th Grade Division has limited game time on Sunday afternoons, so we have to limit this division to 20 teams total.
THIS DIVISION MAY FILL UP BEFORE THE DEADLINE!!

 


Pre-K 3 – 5 years Division
This Division is for 3, 4, and 5-year-old girls and boys. Meeting will be held once weekly and they will practice drills for 20 minutes, followed by a 25 minute long “game” at each meeting. Drills will consist of dribbling, passing and catching, and shooting. The “Game” will consist of each player being allowed to dribble down the court and shoot till they score. There is no defense being played by the other team. Offensive and defensive positioning is shown as is transitioning from offense to defense and vice versa. This is an instructional league for beginners!
  • Teams in this division are co-ed.
  • Division will meet 8 times during the season.
  • Children play on 5 foot SKLZ Mini Hoops
  • Junior size basketball
  • Practices and games will be held at the same time.
  • Practice is 20 minutes & Games are 25 minutes
  • All games will be on Saturdays between 8:45am-12:00pm

Kindergarten – 1st Grade Division
Kindergarten and 1st graders division is aimed for beginning players and is meant to be fun. All players will get equal playing time. Scores are not kept during the games.
  • This division is co-ed
  • 8 foot baskets
  • Junior size basketballs
  • There are 8 games and 6 practices.
  • All practices are on a rotating basis meaning it will change each week. So if you have a Monday practice the first week the 2nd week you would have Tuesday practice then following week Wednesday practice then Thursday then Friday. We do this so if you are already involved with something else you can still go to that and only miss 1 of our practices.
  • Practices are 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Games will be held on Saturdays between 8:45am-12:30pm.
  • Wristbands are worn to help players remember whom they are covering, as well as allowing the officials to know whom the players are supposed to be covering.
  • 4 eight-minute quarters with a running clock.

Girls 2nd-3rd Grade Division
2nd and 3rd grade girls will play in all girls division. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational league meant to introduce players to the game of basketball in a fun environment.
  • 8 foot baskets
  • Junior size basketball
  • There are 8 games and 6 practices.
  • All practices are on a rotating basis meaning it will change each week. So if you have a Monday practice the first week the 2nd week you would have Tuesday practice then following week Wednesday practice then Thursday then Friday. We do this so if you are already involved with something else you can still go to that and only miss 1 of our practices.
  • Practices will be either 5:30pm-6:30pm or 6:30pm-7:30pm
  • Games will be held on Saturdays usually between 1:30pm-4:00pm.
  • Wristbands are worn to help players remember whom they are covering, as well as allowing the officials to know whom the players are supposed to be covering.
  • Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.

Boys 2nd-3rd Grade Division
2nd and 3rd grade boys will play in all boys division. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational league meant to introduce players to the game of basketball in a fun environment.
  • 8 1/2 foot baskets
  • Women’s size basketball (28.5)
  • There are 8 games and 6 practices.
  • All practices are on a rotating basis meaning it will change each week. So if you have a Monday practice the first week the 2nd week you would have Tuesday practice then following week Wednesday practice then Thursday then Friday. We do this so if you are already involved with something else you can still go to that and only miss 1 of our practices.
  • Practices will be 6:30pm-7:30pm.  Games will be held on Saturdays.
  • Wristbands are worn to help players remember whom they are covering, as well as allowing the officials to know whom the players are supposed to be covering.
  • Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.

Girls 4th-5th Grade Division
Fourth and fifth grade girls play a full court, regulation basketball game. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational basketball league officiated by F.H.S.A.A. rules. This is an ideal league for those girls interested in middle school basketball.
  • 10 foot baskets
  • Women’s size basketball (28.5)
  • 8 games and 6 practices
  • All practices are on a rotating basis meaning it will change each week. So if you have a Monday practice the first week the 2nd week you would have Tuesday practice then following week Wednesday practice then Thursday then Friday. We do this so if you are already involved with something else you can still go to that and only miss 1 of our practices.
  • Practices will be 7:30pm-8:30pm
  • Games will be held on Sundays between 11:30am-2:30pm
  • Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.

Boys 4th-5th Grade Division
4th and 5th grade boys play a full court regulation game. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational basketball league officiated by F.H.S.A.A. rules. This league provides a great experience for those boys interested in middle school basketball.
  • 10 foot baskets
  • Women’s size basketball (28.5)
  • 8 games and 6 practices
  • All practices are on a rotating basis meaning it will change each week. So if you have a Monday practice the first week the 2nd week you would have Tuesday practice then following week Wednesday practice then Thursday then Friday. We do this so if you are already involved with something else you can still go to that and only miss 1 of our practices.
  • Practices will be 7:30pm-8:30pm
  • Games will be held on Sundays between 2:00pm-7:30pm
  • Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.
