18th Annual Yellowjacket Indoor Classic

January 4th & 5th, 2020
Grades: 8th & High School Age Girls
Location: Physical Education Building (Lower Gym)
Cost: $275 per Team

Event Description
In an effort to give players in our region an opportunity to compete together during the winter months, as well as showcase their skills in front of the MSU Billings soccer staff, the MSU Billings Women’s Soccer Program will be hosting the “18th Annual YellowJacket Indoor Classic”.

The tournament games will start on Saturday and run through the championship game on Sunday afternoon (we will be unable to honor any special requests in regards to start times for your games). The tournament format will consist of pool play in a 5v5 competition (4 Field players + 1 GK). Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games of 30 minute duration. All games will be played in the newly renovated lower gymnasium on the MSUB campus. We will play with a futsal ball with futsal rules (no playing off the wall).

What to Bring
Players should bring a t-shirt, shorts, sweats, socks, shin guards, and shoes (non-marking soles).  Goalkeeper must wear colors that will distinguish them from all other players. No cleats or turf shoes will be allowed in the gym. Shin guards are mandatory for all players. Knee braces with exposed metal must be wrapped or covered. Watches, rings, looped earrings, or necklaces must be removed for safety reasons.

Directions to Alterowitz Gymnasium
Directions to Campus from Interstate 90

Take exit 450 (MT-3 / 27TH STREET) 0.3 miles. Turn right onto MT-3 N / S 27TH ST. (2.4 mi). Turn left onto POLY DR. (0.2 mi). Turn right to the campus.

Directions to COT from Interstate 90
Take exit 446 (24th Street West / King Avenue West) and loop around until you are driving on King Avenue West. The Homestead business complex will be on your left.
Keep driving west on King Avenue until you reach Shiloh Road, then turn right. At Central Avenue, turn right again. The College of Technology is on the left side of the road.

There is a minimum of five players and a maximum of ten players per squad. Due to the limited number of teams allowed to participate the first 12 teams to submit entry fees will be assured a place in the tournament.

I anticipate this tournament filling up fast, so if you have a team interested in playing, register ASAP.

Facility Descriptions
Playing Surface Description
The nearly 12,000 square foot facility is used for  Intercollegiate Athletic events and practices. The gym was recently renovated to improve the lighting and flooring. Taraflex® Sports Flooring, used in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics, was installed to provide a safer, more consistent and versatile playing surface. All Taraflex® synthetic floors are designed for safety and comfort. Their multi-layered construction includes 100% pure vinyl, a reinforced fiberglass grid and closed-cell foam backing to provide shock absorption, deliver consistent ball bounce, and protect against skin burns.

Gym Description
119.5’ x 100’ or about 11, 950 sq. ft. (entire gym). Each Basketball court is 84’ x 50’. There is 9.5 ft. of space between the two courts that I think he will be using as playing surface. The total playing surface I think he will use is 110’ x 84 ‘.
