Clinic Coaches: Rachelle Sherden enters her 10th season as head coach of the Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team in 2019. In her first nine seasons, Sherden guided the Gusties to six MIAC playoff berths (2011, 2014-18) and has coached 11 players who have earned 22 All-Conference awards and two athletes who have garnered four All-American distinctions over her tenure. Additionally, Sherden received MIAC Coach of the Year and AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year honors in 2018 for the second time in her career (last was in 2015). The 2018 Gusties captured the MIAC regular season championship after going undefeated in conference play and then went on to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after being crowned the MIAC Playoff Champions for the third time in the last four years.

Alyssa Taylor joined the Gustavus volleyball coaching staff for the 2018 season as Rachelle Sherden’s lead assistant. Taylor helped the Gusties capture the MIAC regular season championship after going undefeated in conference play and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after being crowned the MIAC Playoff Champions for the third time in the last four years (Taylor was a senior when the team captured the first championship in 2015). Taylor, a 2015 Gustavus graduate, returned to her alma mater after spending two years at the University of South Carolina as the Director of Volleyball Operations for the indoor and beach volleyball teams. She balanced a full-time job with graduate school and was also a camp director during the summer. Taylor was a three-year starter for the Gustavus volleyball team from 2013-15 where she had a decorated career. The Trimont, Minn. native earned Third Team All-America and MIAC Player of the Year her senior season.

The assistant court coaches will be the current student-athletes of the Gustavus Volleyball Team.
