Event Description

Purdue Softball All-Skills Winter Camps

We are pleased to announce that Coach Boo and her staff will host 2 winter all-skills camps during the month of January 2020. If you are in grades K-12th, discovering softball for the first time, getting ready for travel ball, or sharpening your skills for school ball, you don’t want to miss the All-Skills Winter Camps at Purdue University. Improve your skills in defense, offense, and pitching/catching. Come have fun, take your game to the next level, and showcase your skills in front of the Purdue University Softball Coaches! 2020 is the year to improve your softball FUNdamentals!

  • Defense: Campers will choose their primary defensive position (INF, OF, P, C).
    • All Defenders (Pitchers & Catchers not included): glove work, footwork, throwing, situational defense, etc.
    • Lil Boilers Pitchers: fastball mechanics, drills to improve pitch velocity, in-game pitch strategy, change up mechanics, pitch to a Lil Boilers Camp catcher, etc. *Pitchers do not have to bring a catcher with them to participate in camp.
    • Boilermaker Elite Prospect Pitchers: fastball mechanics, movement pitch fundamentals, skills to improve pitch spin and break, tactics to increase pitch velocity, in-game pitch strategy, take your pitches to the next level, arm care, pitch to an Elite Prospect Camp catcher, etc. *Pitchers do not have to bring a catcher with them to participate in camp.
    • All Catchers: blocking, framing/receiving, throwing, footwork, skills to improve throw accuracy, tactics to reduce pop time, situational defense, in-game strategy, catch a camp pitcher, etc.
  • Hitters: swing fundamentals, increasing power, strategies for improving hitting for average, short-game, base running, etc. (Slapping fundamentals will be included in the hitting stations for campers who are slappers.)
Prospect All-Skills Winter Camp (Grades 7th-12th)
Date: Saturday, 1/18/2020 & Sunday, 1/19/2020
Session Time: Saturday, January 18, 2020: 2:00-6:00pm ET (4 hrs)
Check-In Open Time 1/18/2020: 12:30-1:45pm ET (1 hr 15 min)
Session Time: Sunday, January 19, 2020: 9:00am-12:00pm ET (3 hrs)
Check-In Open Time 1/19/2020: 7:30-8:45am ET (1 hr 15 min)
Cost: $250 per camper

Location

  • Check-in for both All-Skills Winter Camps will take place at Mollenkopf Athletic Facility 1225 Northwestern Ave, West Lafayette, IN 47907
  • Clinics are open to all campers, grades K-6th and 7-12th (as designated by dates/time slots).
  • Online Registration will remain open until Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 5:00pm ET or until camp is filled. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Equipment
All campers must bring their own softball equipment. Cleats are not permitted on the indoor turf field; campers must bring sneakers or turf shoes to participate in camp.

All campers must bring the necessary equipment for ALL camp sessions.

  • Defense: glove, and sneakers or turf shoes.
    • Defenders: (optional) face mask
    • Pitchers: glove, and sneakers or turf shoes
    • Catchers: glove/catching mitt, catching gear, and sneakers or turf shoes
  • Hitting: bat, batting helmet, (optional) batting gloves, and sneakers or turf shoes

All campers are encouraged to wear their middle school, high school, club, or travel ball uniforms. Campers are also encouraged to bring any additional equipment that they may need, such as a mouthpiece, facemask, water jug, etc.  Water will be available at all sessions.

Refund

  • All registrations are final.
  • In an effort to remain compliant with all NCAA and University camp bylaws, we moved away from issuing credit for missed camps.
  • Refunds will not be processed unless you opted to purchase registration insurance during the process of registering for camp.
  • Purdue Softball Camps are operated by Boo De Oliveira Softball Camps, LLC which has sole responsibility for the operation of the camps. Boo De Oliveira Softball Camps, LLC is a separate legal entity from Purdue University and is not sponsored by or affiliated with Purdue University or The Trustees of Purdue University. Neither Purdue University nor its Trustees assume any responsibility for refunds, injury or damages arising out of camps, academies, and clinics.

Camp Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing camp insurance. All registrations are final. During the registration process, you will be provided the option to insure the full amount of your camp fees. With Registration Protector, a camper who misses an event for a reason such as a covered injury or illness, job loss, transportation delays, military/family/legal obligations, and other covered reasons can get their camp fees reimbursed. It gives you peace of mind if you cannot make it to one of our events. It costs less than a cup of coffee to insure your registration amount.

Weather and Updates:

  • Should we encounter bad weather, please use your best judgment. We would like everyone to attend our event. However, we stress safety first especially if you are traveling to camp from far.
  • We will not reschedule or cancel camp due to weather.
