2020 Winter Prospect Camp


Sunday, February 9th
Grades: 9th - 12th
Pitchers/Catchers: 9:00am - 11:00am
Hitting/Fielding: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Pitchers/Catchers: $120 per Camper
Hitting/Fielding: $150 per Camper

Northwestern University is offering a Winter Prospect Camp that is an excellent opportunity for any and all players to be instructed by the Northwestern University Baseball staff.  Members of the Northwestern Baseball staff will be present and instructing at all times throughout the camp. The participants will be instructed in all phases of the game, including hitting, defense, pitching, and base running. Northwestern will also offer education on proper collegiate athlete nutrition along with proper strength and conditioning training. This clinic will offer personal and group instruction. Attention is given to proper instruction and drills to enhance the skill level of each individual. All campers will receive a Northwestern Baseball t-shirt.

Pitchers: The camp will be for Pitchers only.Pitchers WILL NOT HIT during this camp. The camp will focus on position fundamentals, mechanics, drills and will include interaction with Northwesternstudent-athletes. Pitchers will also throw bullpens to catchers.Pitchers will also be using Rapsodo pitching to measure advanced pitching metrics.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 - 9:10: Introduction
  • 9:10 - 9:20: Stretch
  • 9:20 - 10:00: Instruction
  • 10:00 - 11:00: Throwing program/Bullpens

Catchers: Catchers will get the opportunity to showcase receive instruction both defensively as well as offensively. Catchers DO NOT need to sign up for the hitting/ fielding camp to hit.

  • 9:00 - 9:10: Introduction
  • 9:10 - 9:20: Stretch
  • 9:20 - 10:00: Hitting
  • 10:00 - 11:00: Catching

Hitting/Fielding Camps: camp will consist of both hitting and defensive showcase and instruction. Players will go through three 45 minute rotations of hitting, defense, and a hitting talk that will be paired with functional movement training. Hitters will receive insight into the player development process of a Wildcat Baseball player with advanced technologies including Blast, and Hit Trax.

Site & Facility: The camp will be held on the campus of Northwestern University, located 10 milesnorth of Chicago. The camp will take place at Trienens Hall and Northwestern’s indoor hitting facility located next to Rocky & Berenice Miller Park.Our indoor hitting facility has four batting cages and state of the art pitching machines.

Please note that it is extremely important to provide a valid email address, as our confirmation and all communication will be sent via email. Medical Release Forms must be completed online. *After receipt of application, no refunds will be given.

General Information: Each camper must bring their own baseball equipment. Players will need their own bat, glove, batting gloves, molded spikes, turfs, and catchers must bring their own gear.
