The Whitman College Baseball program is excited to host an Elite Pitching Camp this coming Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, January 18-19, 2020. This camp is open to all players in grades 8-12 and will be development driven featuring two outstanding instructors in addition to head coach Brian Kitamura who led the Blues to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance last spring.
Mike Rathwell, CEO of Driveline Baseball and a 2008 Whitman Baseball alumnus, will serve as a guest instructor at camp. Driveline Baseball is one of the leading baseball biomechanic and development organizations in the world.
Blake Treinen, 2018 MLB All-Star and Whitman Baseball volunteer assistant coach, will also serve as an instructor at camp. Treinen, who posted one of the best seasons for a relief pitcher in MLB history in 2018, recently signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Both Rathwell and Treinen will share their vast and cutting edge knowledge in player development with campers to help them prepare for the upcoming spring season.
The camp will kick off with a group training and development session on Saturday the 18th from 3-6pm before pitchers are paired up for more individualized instruction during a 90 minute segment between 8:30am-1:30pm on Sunday the 19th.
