Event Description
FRESHMAN SUMMER ENRICHMENT |
Our Freshman Enrichment Program provides a range of academic enrichment courses that will engage and challenge incoming freshmen. We believe in creating a series of experiences directed to help each student become more confident in themselves and able to think critically.
- The curriculum is designed to give students an opportunity to explore topics and ideas that they might not have mastered or been exposed to during the academic school year.
- The 2020 summer session begins on Monday, June 22 and ends on Friday, July 17. Classes will not meet on Friday, July 3.
Learning to Learn
High School is not just about working hard; it’s also about working smart. This course will help you with the skills you’ll need to do your best in high school, while also teaching you how to stay organized and stress free. Students will have the opportunity to engage in math review, critical thinking and reading (with a focus on grammar), and science skills.
Students will improve their study skills, including note-taking, time management, and best practices for integrating the iPad and other technology in the learning process. Students will practice through hands-on (and minds on!) activities so that they may adapt these techniques to their own learning styles and put them to use as soon as classes begin in the Fall.
