Event Description

NMMI Baseball Facility Campaign

Thank you for taking the time to look into the exciting prospect of a new training facility at the NMMI Baseball complex. As you may have already heard, NMMI Baseball has purchased a steel structure that will be 85’ long, 40’ wide, and 16’ tall at the eaves, to cover new batting cages, indoor mounds, and a plyo wall station. The structure is set to arrive in January of 2020 with the goal of this Facility Campaign being to raise the additional funds needed to start the construction process after the building arrives.

As a past supporter of NMMI Baseball, I am sure you understand the importance of such a facility. Currently (as in the past) our pitchers and hitters are without an on-campus facility where they can work on their skills in the event of inclement weather. In addition, the current batting cages are exposed to the elements 365 days a year and the existing structure presents injury risks due to ricochets off of the numerous poles. The new facility will remove the risk of baseballs rebounding off poles and we should see a significant reduction in the amount of repairs due to less direct sunlight/rain/ice on the netting.

Online Facility Campaign Brochure (PDF)

The brochure (linked above) outlines a few of the specifics on the project and includes a rough sketch of the building itself.

All contributions made toward this Facility Campaign are tax-deductible and will be used to complete some portion of the following:

  • Concrete Work (12 pier footers) and additional concrete slab work
  • Construction/Erection of Steel Building
  • Cage Netting, Divider Nets, and Cable System
  • Protective Screens (6)
  • Portable Mounds (2)

In addition, we are also seeking the available option of using a friend of the program as a certified contractor. With NMMI being a state funded program, we will be following all necessary construction regulations with regard to permits, etc. If you or a construction company you know may be interested in helping with a portion of this project, please contact me with details.
Contributions towards the Facility Campaign are tax-deductible and can be made in three different ways.

Any contribution that exceeds $500 will be acknowledged at the new facility using a “Wall of Honor” plaque. In addition, facility naming rights can be discussed with our administration if an individual, family, or company would like to pursue that option.
Our program has made significant improvements thanks to the generosity you all have shown over the years. Seeking funding is never easy, but I know you are aware of how important player development is as we strive to be the best in this talented region of junior college baseball.
