Elite Soccer Camp
2020 ELITE SOCCER CAMP
Elite Soccer Camp: August 1st-3rd for upcoming 8th grade girls-JC transfers in college.
Join the Grambling State Soccer team for camp August 1st-3rd for a late summer camp. This will be a skill training and competition camp where participants will learn technical skills in competitive settings and then show off those skills in games.
Cost is $100 for the three day camp which features just under 10 hours of soccer with one session on the first and last day, and two sessions on August 2nd.
Airport pick up and drop off from Monroe airport can be arranged from a member of the coaching staff if flying in on the 1st arriving before 3pm, and then departing on the 3rd sometime between Noon to 530pm. The additional cost for transportation to and from camp is $50 total. Hotel stay can be arranged as well in Ruston as there are plenty of nice affordable hotels within a 5 mile drive of campus.
Daily schedule for the camp will be as follows:
August 1st: Camp will go from 4pm to 7pm. Day two on August 2nd will feature a morning session from 8am to 10:15am and then an evening session from 6pm to 8pm. Day 3 we'll go from 8am to 10:30am and conclude the camp with a review and awards.
Please bring your own soccer ball to camp, or if unable to travel with one, you can purchase a Grambling Soccer ball (Size 5) with logo for $12.95 at camp. Bring bottled water or your own water bottle filled with water prior to camp so that we don't congregate at a water jug and can better maintain social distancing practices. Please wear shin guards at camp.
If for some reason we need to cancel the camp due to covid concerns, then we can and will offer a refund. All participants or guardians if under 18, must sign and agree to a liability waiver. Last summer we had roughly 30 participants ages 13 to 20 years old in attendance and it was a fun competitive camp. We'll teach 4 forms of shooting, dribble moves, post up moves, combination play as well as doing short sided games and full sided scrimmages at this camp.
Numbers will be limited to 25 to 30 participants. Sign up online by July 15th to avoid a $20 late fee.
For those campers who might need help arranging lodging, transportation and meals for the three days, please email or call coach Wagar with questions so options can be discussed for your child. We look forward to the opportunity of working with you for three days this August.
