2020 DANCE TEAM AUDITION
Due to COVID 19 round 1 of auditions will be held via video submission.

Whats the Round 1 Proccess?
- Submit online application by 5pm Monday May 4th www.alabamadancecamps.com. *If you have already mailed one in, you do not need to fill out the online version.
- All applicants will be emailed 3 video links by 5pm on May 5th Jazz, Hip-hop, and Gameday.
- Applicants will then have until 5pm Friday May 8th to film and submit their three videos and upload to a link that we will send with specific upload information on Monday May 4th with the links
What to Include in you Video?
- At the beginning of each video, state your full name, hometown, what studio or team you have trained with and which style you are executing in said video. Example. “Hi, my name is Morgan Williams, I am from Tuscaloosa, Alabama and I currently train at the University of Alabama. I hope you enjoy my submission of the Jazz/Contemporary combo. Roll Tide!”
- Save each video as your first and last name and the style. Example MorganWilliams.jazz.mov
- All applicants will be notified by May 22 via email if they WILL or WILL NOT advance to round 2 of live auditions (date not confirmed at this time).
The Program Consists of
- Perform on sideline for home football game(s)
- Perform pre-game, half-time and sideline routines at Men’s and Women’s basketball games
- Travel to the Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament(16) and NCAA Men’s Tournaments(6)
- Perform for charitable organizations, local schools, and spirit events
- Attend UDA Summer College Dance Camp
- Promote spirit and support all University of Alabama athletic teams
- Serve as ambassadors of The University of Alabama and uphold, reflect, and project the goals and ideals of The University of Alabama
- Maintain a positive attitude and approach every challenge in a professional manner
- Compete at UDA College Dance Team Nationals in Orlando, Florida
- Program consists of dance technique and skills, cardiovascular/strength training classes, and academic excellence
*Rotation schedules are used throughout season if space at events limited. It is rare that all members perform atone event. The selection is coach’s discretion based on effort, attitude, execution, and commitment to program.
Audition Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled or accepted to The University of Alabama. High school seniors and transfer students are eligible to audition provided you can provide a copy of UA acceptance letter. Current University of Alabama students should attach “Enrollment Verification” from the University Registrar and proof of overall GPA.
- Current students must have a cumulative overall GPA of 2.0 or better.
- REQUIRED COMMITMENTS AND DATES: Must be able to attend all rehearsals, technique classes, workouts, games, summer rehearsals and other related activities during the 2020-2021 year. Required dates: Summer rehearsals—July 9-15 (camp routine prep); Camp (4-day), July 16-19.(Students wishing to attend summer school should take “Summer Interim” and/or “First Half of Session” )
What should you Wear
You should wear a 2 piece dance outfit you feel confident in. Top (youmay add stones if you like)—dance midriff top is recommended; bottom—dance shorts; and dance shoes of any type.
