CAMP DETAILS

Welcome! In our 24th year, the UTSA Choir Camp continues to be a leader in the Texas All-State Choir preparatory process. Because of the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we are not allowed to host an in-person camp this summer. We are, however, excited for you to join our virtual program! While this version of our camp may be different than in previous years, we are resolved as a team to continue to provide the best possible experience to our campers. We are dedicated to being the best and most valuable resource to learn your All-State music. Our camp features outstanding clinicians from prominent Texas high school music programs along with UTSA’s own superb conductors and faculty to provide an intensive and advanced study of the All-State audition music. All high school students and entering high schools students planning to participate in the All-State process are welcome to register.

We are unable to provide music to campers this year. Please plan to purchase the All-State music packet on your own. We apologize for the inconvenience.

To visit the JW Pepper website to purchase your music packet, click here. If your student is singing as a Soprano or Alto, choose the Large School Treble Packet. If you student is singing as a Tenor or a Bass, choose the Large School Tenor Bass Packet.

Our campers will gain access to a myriad of videos and learning aids, including:

  • Rehearsal and performance videos of the All-State music, featuring UTSA faculty and alumni
  • Diction coaching for the All-State music
  • Immersive group focus sessions pertaining to vocal and mental health

Students will also attend live meetings via Zoom with their voice part clinician, as well as sessions with Dr. Muhn and Dr. Mabry. There they will get the chance to submit questions and actively participate in discussions about the music.

Students will have the opportunity to have an online voice lesson with a member of the UTSA voice faculty. Lessons are 30 minutes long and are an additional $25. If you are interested in participating in this exceptional opportunity, make sure to select the voice lesson option at registration.

We are looking forward to having you. Join us from the comfort of your own home and #letsUTSAvechoircamp!
