The Gulf Coast Fastpitch League Announces Inaugural Season 

The Gulf Coast Fastpitch League or GCFL is a collection of teams working collaboratively to grow the game and provide Our Fastpitch Community a level playing field where all squads from the Biggest Clubs to the loneliest of small or new teams have a chance to compete at the highest level. 

The GCFL three steps are:

1. Teams from 18u through 14u will play a minimum of 8 league games throughout the summer.  Earning points based on their winning percentage in designated league games.

2. Already established Competitive Events will be designated GCFL events. Finishes in the tournaments will generate bracket points.

3. GCFL Championship, open to all teams in the league, will be seeded by a team’s ranking based on the combination of league and bracket points.  The Championship will have a World Series format with each team playing in a regional. Winners will graduate to a super-regional best two-out-of-three before advancing to the final eight that is played out just like the CWS culminating with a final series between two squads.  The championship will take place in a TBD location over five days, Jul 28-Aug 1.

All GCFL games will be streamed using Athletes Go Live which will allow us to maintain appropriate history and statistics. Standings will be updated daily and individual recognition will occur weekly.

GCFL Juniors will include 12u and 10u teams, but will not include a league in 2020, but will have a GCFL Juniors Championship for $595.

We are excited to kick off this new chapter of cooperation in Gulf Coast Fastpitch.  Though we have always worked well together to improve the state of play, the GCFL ushers in a significant step up in collaboration while leveling the playing field.
