- The curriculum is designed to give students an opportunity to explore topics and ideas that they might not have mastered or been exposed to during the academic school year.
Cultivating Academic Excellence - Virtual
In this two-week virtual course students will build the skills that colleges and universities identify as crucial for college success - whether in in-person or virtual classrooms. This course includes practice and support in: organizational skills, critical thinking, reading, math, time management, test preparation and test-taking skills. The course will include one-on-one analysis and coaching based on prior academic successes, struggles and standardized test scores. The course will center on intentionally wrapping up the 2019-2020 school year, with a focus on identifying student strengths and areas of growth for the next school year. It is intended for students who have the desire to grow and challenge themselves academically and aim to enroll (or are already enrolled) in AP and honors courses.
Each day’s meeting will consist of online group meetings, 1:1 virtual meetings with the teacher, and independent work time. All students will also have the option of an additional organizational and academic planning meeting with the teacher in August to prepare for the 2020-21 school year.
