Event Description

Class Act Productions Community Theatre Camps

MadCAP Intensive Camp

During this MadCAP Intensive, students will learn to trust themselves and others while embracing spontaneity and exploring the essential elements of telling the greatest unknown story. Throughout the week, students will work in small groups to explore short-form, scene-based games that rely on teamwork and unique rules (i.e., each line of a scene must begin with the next letter of the alphabet) leading up to a performance for their peers on Friday. Students will also explore the basic tenets of improvisation from “Yes, And” to “giving gifts” to “Name/Location/Action.” This foundational knowledge will prepare students for future forays into the world of improvisation and help them develop confidence in the power of their voice and imagination. If your student is interested, the only thing they must do is say “Yes, And!”
