Petrel Baseball Camps

Summer Camp Session I
Date: July 22nd - 24th
**Space is limited to 22 campers**
Location: Blackburn Park: 3493 Ashford Dunwoody, Rd Brookhaven, GA 30319
COVID19 Safety Protocols:
Max 22 campers per session, 3 coaches per session.
Coaches will wear face coverings when instructing and not able to socially distance. Campers will have option but not mandatory.
We will not use the dugout, campers will be assigned a predetermined space along the fouls lines for their belongings. There are some shaded areas for us to cool off and still be socially distanced.
No sharing equipment (gloves, bats, helmets, etc).
Campers must bring own water and food. We will have some bottled water, but please pack a small cooler or large enough container of water for the day. There will not be a water cooler available. Please pack a lunch.
No seeds, no gum, no spitting allowed at camp.
We will take regular water and kids will be encouraged to wash their hands on those breaks. There are some shaded areas for us to cool off and still be socially distanced.
Kids will be socially distanced throughout the day and split into small groups. They will remain in their own groups as much as possible throughout the camp.
Shared baseball will be disinfected throughout the day.
Coaches will encourage kids to socially distance and keep hands off of their faces.
Even though we will have some different measures in place, we will have FUN and play baseball.
All camps led by CURRENT Oglethorpe University Head Baseball Coach Dan Giordano and all kids will be coached by College players. Coach Giordano is the winningest coach in school history and has over 250 career wins. He has been coaching for 16 years and has been working camps for 10+ years.
Coach to camper ratio is 10-1.
Kids will go through the same drills as college players in age specific groups designed to enhance each players skill level. First time players and seasoned vets will all benefit from a week on a college campus baseball field. Along with baseball activities the camp will include other fun baseball activities! Join us for a fun-filled week of baseball.
Coach G uses a variety of instructional techniques to develop the basics techniques of baseball. He’ll use some of the same drills used at every level of baseball to reinforce proper fundamentals. Along with the traditional drills he will use other fun activities such as slip n’ slide to teach proper sliding form for all ages. Coach G believes in teaching baseball and creating a fun atmosphere where everyone can improve no matter their skill level. Instructions includes:
