Lifeguard Training

International Lifeguard Training Program (15+)

The Helen P. Brown Natatorium utilizes the Ellis &   Associates International Lifeguard Training Program for all LG training.  This program is used around the world in most of the world’s waterparks and many pools.

Successful candidates will be prepared to accept a pool lifeguarding job with the ILTP certification, which includes water skills, Basic Life Support (CPR, Rescue Breathing, AED/O2 use, etc.) and First Aid skills, along with proactive scanning skills to prevent incidents.

Each class requires 7-8 hours of online learning, a one-hour online test and then a full day of skills-based training. Prerequisites for the class include a 100-yard swim using freestyle and breaststroke, a two-minute tread using your legs only, retrieval of a brick from 12.5 feet depth, and climbing out of the pool without using the ladder.

Choose ONE class to complete your training. See dates associated with your class.  Failure to complete online training and test on time will result in an inability to participate in class.
