A new camp exposure experience that CONNECTS the serious softball athlete with many college softball coaches all at one place, in one event.

This event will only happen 1-2 times a year with this expansive roster of schools from across the nation.

These camps, like all Diamond Direction events are created with the camper in mind.

We want you to get the most out of your experience with recruiting and showcasing your skills. 

We want you to learn AND get as many opportunities as possible to interact with colleges to grow in your game development.

Due to the size of this event, we will only host 1-2 a year and continue to host events with regional exposure in the southeast part of the United States

This is a College cooperative event in which Colleges and Universities from all over the nation representing DI are registering to help identify talent, teach and recruit athletes like YOU in ONE event.  This is a one stop shop for you to learn more about how coaches teach, what you are looking for, what you can improve in, and what style of play Colleges like to recruit and the skills they value in the recruiting process.

You get up close and personal with over 30 different schools by learning, interacting, and working with the coaches YOU PICK! How cool is that?

This is Mega-Event with over 30 of the top DI programs represented, offering athletes multiple opportunities to get up-close and personal with the participating coaches YOU choose to train with…

Pitchers must supply their own catcher when they sign up for this session (and their catcher can be a catcher that has attended Connect clinic on the day of this session. (All minors must sign a waiver).

REGISTRATION: (INCLUDES A GAME AT 7:30 PM ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT)

Phase I:  Here is how the registration process works starting February 4th, 2023.

  • On Sunday, February 4th, 2023, at 6pm, you can register for camp and then you choose up to 3 of your first three clinics to sign up for.  Each clinic is $60/clinic
  • To guarantee your top 3, you must register between February 4th- 18th.  
  • If you register for more than 3 clinics during this phase, our staff will randomly delete one of your clinics.  This is to ensure that all campers get their first 3 choices of clinics. 
  • If you choose to register for less than 3 clinics during Phase I, we won’t be able to do much later to help you get into one of your top 3 choices if something changes and you decide to do more clinics.

Phase II:  Here is how it works after April 1st, 2023.

  • On Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 9am, you can register for additional clinics if you choose.
  • This is a first come, first serve, registration is open 9am and after.
  • Please wait until 9am on April 1st to register for your 4th, 5th clinic.
  • Remember, you make your own schedule.  Keep in mind, 3+ hours of back-to-back clinics is a lot, especially if it is hot out.
  • Remember to schedule breaks and time to eat lunch.
  • June 2nd will be the last day to register for clinics.
  • It is our goal that every athlete gets to work with their top 3 coaches/schools.  During Phase II, if you do not get your top 3 clinics, please email diamonddirectionevents@gmail.com so we can help.  We cannot guarantee your top choices, but we will do everything in our power to help!  If you are dissatisfied, we will offer a full refund from February 25thMarch 15th.

Phase III:  May 15th, 2023

  • Those who enter the transfer portal will be allowed to register on May 15th and registration will close for this camp on June 1. Upon your paperwork with the NCAA, the email you receive from May 15th on will be required for you to register for this camp.
  • We will have a free wait list that does not require a credit card. We will move athletes from the wait list at this time to sessions. It is important you check your email regularly!

PRICING:

 1. The “Entry Fee” is $300.  We have a convenient and free payment plan.  Deposit is only $99.  This will guarantee a roster spot in this camp.   PLUS:

  • Gives you access to register for individual college clinics.
  • Allows you entry and free access to all the panels with our college coach partners.
  • Includes live game play in one game at the end of the day of your clinic sessions.
  • Full payment is due on May 1st

2. Additional individual clinic pricing is $60 per clinic.

  • By registering, you agree to sign-up to a minimum of 1 clinic at $60 each. (You choose the clinic).
  • You have the option to register for as many clinics as you like.  Each clinic is $60.  We recommend doing no more than 5 clinics.  AFTERALL, YOU HAVE A GAME TO PLAY TOO!

3.  Pitching Session | 3:30 - 5:30pm: $100

We hope that you see a ton of VALUE in CONNECT!

  • When traveling to a 1 day CONNECT camp, the average costs for camp, travel, food and lodging for most campers and 1 parent is approximately $1,100-$1,600. (THIS INCLUDES 3 SESSIONS FOR YOUR DAUGHTER TO CONNECT WITH 3 DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS IN ONE PLACE)
  • When traveling by car/plane to an on-campus clinic AT ONE INSTITUTION, the average costs for camp, travel, food and lodging for most campers and 1 parent is approximately $1,000-$1,600. When you do this 2-3 times this can add up from a monetary perspective and THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE THE PARENTS TIME AWAY FROM WORK.

We highly recommend athletes purchase camp insurance in case of illness or injury.  This can be done at the time of check-out through Ryzer.


CAMP INFORMATION:

Arrival Time/Sign-In

  • Arrive at least 45 minutes before your first clinic to stretch and find a partner to throw with.
  • We are opening the sign-in station at 7am for those athletes who registered for an 8am clinic.
  • All campers must check-in at the Diamond Direction table, and you will receive your final schedule with field numbers.  This will make sure you always know where to be!

End Time:

  • The last clinic will end at 7pm.
  • Clinic games will end at 9:30pm.

 

Packing List:

  • Water bottle, water and EXTRA Water.
  • We will supply water, but we suggest bringing your own water and bring and extra water bottle if you have clinics back-to-back.
  • Bring lots of food/snacks because you will be at the fields for MANY hours!  Prepare for the day!  Take this seriously, you fueling your body is SO important to best have energy throughout the day!
  • All your standard softball gear, prepare for rain, and of course HOT weather.  Suggestion…  Bring extra shoes and socks…
  • Questions for the College Coaches.
  • Bring a notebook or ways to take notes of things you learned and conversations you had.
  • WE SUGGEST ALL CAMPERS IN HIGH SCHOOL HAVE REGISTERED WITH THE NCAA AND HAVE THAT NCAA ID# ON THE PROFILES THEY MAY BRING. IF YOU'RE A COLLEGE TRANSFER THIS ID IS IMPORTANT AND REQUIRED AS WELL.

  • Due to inclement weather, this event will not be canceled or postponed. 
  • This event will occur outside.

LIVE Game Play:

  • This camp will conclude with an incredible opportunity to compete!  1 7inning game will occur from 7:30pm-9:30pm.  (Could change due to weather)

 

Parents and Fans:

  • Parents or fans are NOT allowed to film the college clinics.
  • Parents or fans are not allowed to be on any field.
  • Parents are allowed to listen-in on the College Prep Q&A but are NOT allowed to participate. (We have found that parents take over the conversation and the athletes speak less or don’t ask what they want when we allow the Parents to ask questions.

 

College Prep Q&A:

  • We will host 2, 40 minute-minute College Prep Q&A’s with a handful of college coaches at 12:15pm and at 2:30pm.
  • Athletes:  Please come prepared with questions to ask the college coaches.
  • This is designed to be an interactive and educational experience between the coach and the athlete.  We are allowing parents to listen (think you are a fly on the wall) because we know how important parents are during the recruiting process.
  • No check-In required.

 

Insurance:

  • We strongly suggest all athletes purchase cancellation insurance. This will protect you against sickness or injury.  Diamond Direction does not offer refunds or credits if you get sick our injured.

Catcher, Pitcher, Infielder, or Outfielders who hit and play these positions: You will do offensive and defensive skill sessions with college coaches. Pitching and Catching won’t be covered in these sessions, but this is your chance to go through sessions that the College Coaches plan and prepare for this unique camp opportunity!

PITCHING REGISTRATION:

Pitching Clinic Costs | 3:30 - 5:30pm: $100

Pitchers who sign up for this session will get a chance to warm up, learn and pitch for any of the programs that attend the pitching session, and grow in the game. Pitchers will get a chance to work with coaches, learn, and show how coachable they are before live game play. These kinds of sessions are a great way for you to learn more about coaches and for them to learn more about you, while you can perform and showcase your skills.

During our sessions we will also be gathering data. Here's the thing, we aren't just doing this for us, we are doing this for YOU!! Flightscope data will be taken on every pitcher that attends camps. Velocity, Spin rate, break, and spin direction. We will gather data in this session and you will get an additional time assigned to you throughout the day so we can be sure good data is collected on your pitches.

You will throw your fastball, change up or best offspeed, and 2 best spins. This information won't just be gathered, but we will be creating a PDF for you to receive post camp. This will be an invaluable tool for you post camp, and we encourage you to attach this chart to your recruit emails. If you have a website or you tube account that you like to post information about yourself, this chart will be a great addition to YOU promoting YOU. So, you will get to be recruited while at camp, and you will have even more tools to be recruited AFTER camp. We want you to be better equipped after attending an event with us. Every event we do is with you in mind, to help you reach your goals.

This is a sample of what every pitcher will get for your growth and recruiting journey. Every camper will be emailed their own file with the data collected at camp. You can share it with any college of your choice! You will get information on all pitches collected and a summary to help you understand what you are looking at. This data is priceless!!


TRANSFER REGISTRATION:

Clinic Costs: $60 per clinic chosen

Transfer Portal Registration Opens May 15. You will need the following to register:

  1. NCAA ID#
  2. Upload the email confirmation you receive upon entering the portal

We are dedicated to helping those athletes who find themselves on the transfer portal.  Those that have found themselves in the transfer portal will have a chance to register for sessions with our partnering coaches if they have informed us that they would like to work with college transfers.   When you sign up your NCAA ID# is required. If you are a JUCO or a DIII athlete, you must register and provide a NCAA EC # when you register. You can register here for your NCAA EC# NCAA Eligibility Center

If you do not upload the email from the NCAA, your registration will be placed on a wait list. The first transfers with the proper documentation will be allowed in camp. We must verify that you have completed the NCAA requirements so that our NCAA Coaches are compliant with any and all NCAA rules. Spaces are limited for transfers and will not open until May 15, 2023.
