OSU Summer Music Institute
A six-day intensive musical experience, the OSU Summer Music Institute offers high school students the opportunity to stud their instrument in a comprehensive collegiate setting. The camp offers three tracks of study: band, orchestra, and piano. Band and orchestra students will have the opportunity to play as members of large ensembles, as well as participate in day studio classes led by OSU artist faculty. Students will be involved in masterclasses, chamber ensembles, and daily workshops.
Each student will receive one 30-minute private lesson with the Artist Faculty and have the option of having a 60-minute lesson for an additional $35. Student will study in-depth instrument-specific fundamentals, short and long tern strategies for musical growth, and techniques for high-level performance, including hot to progress in the all-state audition process and other competition.
All events take place on the beautiful OSU-Stillwater campus in the Greenwood School of Music and McKnight Center for Performing Arts. The camp will take place from July 9-14, 2023. Student have the option of being a residential participant (living on campus) or a commuter participant. Commuter students will receive lunch. Residential Students will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner except for Eskimo Joe’s Night.
