Beaches Basketball League

Beaches Basketball League is a recreational basketball league designed give participants an introduction to basketball in a fun and friendly environment. The goal of our league is to help kids develop basketball skills and do so with a positive attitude. Each kid will be given an equal opportunity to participate in games
 

WINTER LEAGUE INFORMATION
January 4th - March 9th

• Open to girls and boys 3 years old through 5th graders

• Deadline to register: Friday. Dec 1st Divisions may fill up BEFORE the deadline.

    • League runs January 4th - March 9th All Teams have 8 games.
    *We have added an extra week in case there is a gym scheduling problem.

 • We will be using St. Paul's Gym, 212 5th Street North, Jacksonville Beach, Fl. 32250 and Beaches Chapel Gym, 610 Florida Blvd. Neptune Beach, Fl. 32266

• There are 8 games and 6 practices for K - 1st, 2nd - 3rd and 4th - 5th Grade Divisions.

• The Pre-K has 8 meetings which consist of a practice/game at each meeting.

• Cost: EARLY BIRD PRICE!! $150 till September 1st. 
$170 after September 1st

• 1st Practice:
    *4th-5th Grade Teams will practice Thursday January 4th and Friday, January 5th.
*K-1st Grade and 2nd-3rd Grade will practice Saturday, January 6th

• Deadline to register is Friday, December 1st.

• IMPORTANT! Please know that we have a limited amount of time on the weekends for games, so we are limiting the number of teams! A Division may fill up BEFORE the deadline!!  Sign-Up EARLY to reserve a spot.

LEAGUE DIVISIONS INFORMATION

Pre-K 3 – 5 years Division
This Division is for 3, 4, and 5-year-old girls and boys. Meetings will be held once weekly and they will practice drills for 20 minutes, followed by a 25 minute long “game” at each meeting. Drills will consist of dribbling, passing, catching, and shooting. The “Game” will consist of each player being allowed to dribble down the court and shoot till they score. There is no defense being played by the other team. Offensive and defensive positioning is shown as is transitioning from offense to defense and vice versa. This is an instructional league for beginners!

• Teams in this division are co-ed.
• Division will meet 8 Saturdays during the season.
• Children play on adjustable 5-foot plastic baskets.
• Junior size basketballs
• All Meetings are on Saturdays.
• Each Meeting, players will practice 20 minutes & then play a Game for 25 minutes.
•  Meetings will be Saturdays between 8:45am - 1:15pm.

Kindergarten – 1st Grade Division
Kindergarten and 1st graders division is aimed for beginning players and is meant to be fun. All players will get equal playing time. Scores are not kept during the games.

• This division is co-ed.
• 8-foot baskets
• Junior size basketballs
• This division has 8 games and 6 practices.
• Games will be held on Saturdays between 8:45am - 2:00pm.
• Practices will be weekday evenings between 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
• Wristbands are worn to help players remember who they are covering, as well as allowing the officials to know who the players are supposed to be covering.
• 4 eight-minute quarters with a running clock.

Boys 2nd-3rd Grade Division
2nd and 3rd grade boys will play in all boy’s division. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational league meant to introduce players to the game of basketball in a fun environment.

• 8-foot baskets
• Junior Size basketball
• There are 8 games and 6 practices.
• Games will be held on Saturdays between 8:45am - 2:45pm.
• Practices will be weeknights between 5:30pm - 7:30pm
• Wristbands are worn to help players remember who they are covering, as well as allowing the officials to know who the players are supposed to be covering.
• Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.

Girls 4th-5th Grade Division
4th and 5th grade girls play a full court, basketball game. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational basketball league.

• 10-foot baskets
• Women size basketball (28.5)
• There are 8 games and 6 practices.
• Practices will be weeknights between 6:30pm - 8:30pm
• All Games are on Sunday afternoons between 12:00pm - 7:00pm
• Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.

Boys 4th-5th Grade Division
4th and 5th grade boys play a full court regulation game. All players will receive equal playing time. This is a recreational basketball league.

• 10-foot baskets
• Women’s size basketball (28.5)
• There are 8 games and 6 practices.
• Practices will be weeknights between 6:30pm - 8:30pm
• All games Sunday afternoons between 12:00pm - 7:00pm
• Four 8-minute quarters with a running clock.
