One-Day Prospect Camp

Open to all High School and Junior College Students
Check-In: 8:30 AM
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Includes Camp T-Shirt  / Lunch is NOT Provided

No Walk-Up Registrations Will Be Allowed.

Schedule
Registration will begin at 8:30 AM at the baseball field and camp will begin at 9:00 AM. Pitcher-Only’s will have a later registration time that is TBD. Campers will go through a pro-style workout in the morning, followed by games in the afternoon. Additionally, campers will have the opportunity to tour some of Grand Valley State University’s athletic facilities during camp. Camp will conclude around 4:00 PM.

What to Bring
Tennis/Turf Shoes or Molded Cleats (No Metal Cleats!), baseball glove, hat, pants, bat, batting helmets, lunch, personal water bottle, and catching gear, or any other desired piece of equipment. Camp shirts will be provided.

Camp Site
Due to current renovations going on at the Laker Baseball Field, the camp site is currently, TBD. If the field renovations at the Baseball Field are concluded by the date of the camp, camp will be held at the GVSU Baseball Field on GVSU's Allendale Campus. If the field is still under construction at the designated date, camp will be held at the intramural fields on Grand Valley’s Allendale Campus. Additionally, the $18 million Kelly Family Sports Center will be used if inclement weather comes into play.

The GVSU Baseball Program
The GVSU baseball program has established itself as one of the premiere programs in NCAA Division II. The Lakers are coming off a 2024 GLIAC Conference Tournament Championship and NCAA Division II regional appearance. The Laker’s were the 2016 Co-Conference Champions and the 2013 team finished 3rd at the Division II World Series in addition to winning the GLIAC championship. The 2012 Lakers won the GLIAC regular season and tournament and was a NCAA Regional semifinalist. In 2011, Grand Valley was the GLIAC champion and advanced to the Division II World Series. With a 52-5 record the Lakers spent most of the season ranked #1 in NCAA DII. In 2009, the Lakers were ranked #1 for several weeks, and in 2007 and 2008, GVSU was ranked as high as #3 in the country. Since 2003, GVSU has won ten GLIAC conference championships. The Lakers have been in nine regional championship games, winning six of them advancing to the NCAA Division II World Series with national finishes of third in 2013, seventh in 2011 & 2009, fourth in 2005, second in 2004, and fifth in 2003.
