Event Description

CROSS COUNTRY CAMP

Enjoy four days of high-altitude training in the Rocky Mountains hosted by Colorado State's cross country team. This camp is a great opportunity for high school athletes to learn from college athletes and coaches, run on scenic trails at 9,000ft altitude, and to have fun with other high school athletes in a beautiful environment. The camp is held at the rustic CSU Mountain campus, which is nestled in the rocky mountains 90 minutes west of Fort Collins.

Location: Colorado State Mountain Campus (16321 Pingree Park Road  Bellvue, Colorado 80512). Drop off/pickup will happen at the Jack Christiansen Track on CSU's main campus in Fort Collins, and campers will be transported on charter buses to the mountain campus.

Drop off: Monday morning 8:00am-9:00am at the Jack Christiansen track. Buses will depart for the mountain campus at 9:00am, so please arrive earlier than that so there is time for your camper to be checked in.

Pick-Up: Thursday afternoon 4:00pm-5:00pm at the Jack Christiansen track. We will be back from the mountain campus by 4:00, so any time 4:00-5:00 works for campers to be picked up.

Activities: This camp will include running, hiking, campfires, games, guest speakers, and more!

What to bring: running clothes, running shoes, flip flops or sandals, sweatpants and sweatshirts (it gets chilly in the mountains in the evening!), water bottle, pillow, blankets or sleeping bag (sheets provided), toiletries, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen.
This camp is a high-altitude running camp, and campers will be sleeping and running at 9,000ft of elevation. To prepare, we recommend campers be running multiple days a week in the weeks leading up to camp.

Directions: Take the Prospect exit off I25 heading west until College Ave. Head north on College Ave to Pitkin. Head West on Pitkin, one block crossing rail road tracks. Take first right after the railroad track and travel one block to parking lot and track facility.
