Pitt's Kids Spring Adaptive Swim

Event Description
The Pitt’s Kids Adaptive Swim Program was specifically designed to benefit children of ages 5 - 14 with a range of physical and intellectual needs. Our goal is to help each swimmer overcome any challenges they may face in the water, regardless of prior swim experience, in a 1:1 instruction ratio. Our top priorities for each child includes: to become comfortable in the water, learn water safety, increase physical activity, and of course - have fun!
The program is implemented by current physical therapy students, health and human development students, occupational therapy students, and student looking to work with disabilities for their career. This is a great way for University of Pittsburgh students to create, design, and implement programs for kids in an aquatic environment.
