| Refund Policy: If you cancel your plans to attend camp by May 19, you will receive a 100 percent refund minus the registration fee. Any cancellations following that date WILL NOT be refunded under ANY circumstances. Please be certain of plans and dates before signing up. | |
Arrival & Pick-Up
Camp hours each day are 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
On Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, campers may be dropped off at Gate 1 of Hinkle Fieldhouse between 8:45-9:00 a.m.
Camp closes at 4:00 p.m. each day. Parents are welcome to arrive early for the closing of camp on the main Hinkle Fieldhouse court each day and to pick up your child once camp is dismissed. Please arrange for your camper to be picked up no later than 4:15 p.m.
What To Bring To Camp
Enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and have fun, a good attitude and a water bottle!
Personalized Instruction
Butler Men’s Basketball head coach Thad Matta and his staff oversee all aspects of the camp, using their expertise, guidance and leadership to increase each camper’s abilities in the game of basketball. Camp is designed to help teach the fundamentals of basketball, while also creating competition in a fun way. Shooting, ball-handling, and passing will be emphasized in a team-constructed manner to help campers enjoy the game while learning how to improve and compete.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided each day (alternating Hot Box Pizza and Chick-fil-A).
Campers also have the option to bring their own lunches. If your child has a food allergy or other dietary restriction, please plan to send a lunch with your child each day. Coolers will be available to keep lunch box in if needed.
League Play
Thad Matta Basketball School Camps weeks 1 and 2 are open to ALL children entering grades 2-8.
*Week 3 (June 16-19) aligns with a recruiting dead period this year. Due to NCAA rules, rising 7th and 8th graders are unable to attend camp during Week 3 dates as they are considered to be a “recruitable age.”
Leagues and teams are broken down by grade level. Please make sure the grade your camper is entering is listed correctly as it’s difficult to accommodate league changes once camp begins. Special requests for team placement cannot be honored.
Trainer On Site
A certified trainer will be present for all sessions of camp. Parents are responsible for their camper’s health insurance.
Insurance & Medical Care
Each camper must be covered by his or her parent’s insurance before participating in any of the camp activities. We also require written permission concerning your child’s ability to safely participate in this camp. Completed permission forms must be received before your daughter or son can participate in any camp activities. Forms will be emailed or sent to you upon receiving your registration form.
Camp Store
Snacks and drinks are available at the camp store. Punch cards may be purchased for $10 per card; this amount may be added to your enrollment fee. Cards also may be purchased during the week of camp.
