Building Leaders through the Arts, STEAM, and Teamwork (BLAST)
BLAST Academy is a 3-week summer learning and enrichment program developed and administered by The University of Alabama's Division of Community Affairs and College of Education. The program's objectives are to enhance student academic learning, physical well-being, and to promote social, emotional, and life skill development. Secondary objectives include preparing students as well as families for the upcoming school year and decreasing the traditional learning loss experienced during summer slide. BLAST Academy enrollment will be open to elementary students (completed kindergarten through completed 5th grade May 2025). Enrollment numbers will be capped per age group to meet safety and staffing requirements. The program will run from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for 3 consecutive weeks (15 total days) beginning Monday, July 7, 2025, to through Friday, July 25, 2025. Beginning the program in July will bridge the gap between the end of summer learning and the start of the new school year.
Please note: BLAST Academy is not staffed to be able to provide one-on-one instruction
