Event Description

Reading Readiness Camp

 

The Reading Readiness Camp is intended to foster a love for reading among young school-going children through hands-on, fun learning activities. Campers will be engaged in small group instruction that focuses on developing their confidence for reading in a supportive environment. Learning Objectives

  • To increase child’s alphabetical knowledge, including naming and sequential skills.
  • To increase child’s knowledge of sound/symbol associations for all consonants, consonant digraphs and short vowels.
  • To increase a child's phonological awareness abilities.
  • To increase a child’s ability to write/print.

Assessment Remarks: Research may be conducted during the 2025 Reading Readiness Camp.

Week 1: July 7 - 10
Week 2: July 14 - 17
M - TH ONLY | No Class on Fridays
Ages:  6-7
Time: Drop off between 8:45 - 9:00 am
Pick up between 11:45 am - 12:00pm
Cost: $110 (includes T-shirt)
$130 May 1-May 30
T-shirt not guaranteed after May 1.
MAX PARTICIPANTS: 30 per session

SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of camp scholarships will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Please complete the application hereTo reserve a spot, please register. If you receive a scholarship, a refund will be issued.  

CANCELLATION REFUND POLICY: 100% refund prior to June 6 (5 p.m.) 50% refund will be issued if cancellation notice is received before June 20 (5 p.m.) No refunds will be provided once sessions start.

No Show Policy: If a student does not show for the first day of camp without notice, the guardian will be contacted and given until 2 p.m. the next day to respond. If the second day provides another no show and no response, the seat will become forfeit and will be provided to a wait-lister without refund to the original registration.
