Girls Wrestling Camp

Camp Information

1. Check in will begin at 12pm. The clinic starts at 1pm, so please plan accordingly to have your wrestler there and ready (shoes on) to begin at that time.  We will begin promptly at 1pm.
2. At check in, we will also weigh your athlete, which will be used to group girls with similar weights for live matches at the end of the clinic. If you do not want your child to participate in these live matches, then please let us know at check in.
3. This clinic is not intended to be a daycare service for the afternoon, but rather an opportunity for girls of all ages and abilities to learn from one of USA’s best ever female wrestlers. If your child is a distraction to this, we will first ask them to change their behavior. The second warning will involve having them sit out until they can behave. Lastly, if they continue to be a distraction, we will ask you to remove them from the clinic.
4. You may leave your child for the duration of the camp, however, if there are behavior issues with your child as outlined above and you are not present, we will call you to return and pick your child up.
5. There will be a 30-minute break roughly halfway through along with periodic water breaks as needed. Please have your child bring a water bottle so  they do not have to leave the gym during these water breaks.
6. Please have your child eat lunch prior to arrival. This clinic starts around the lunch hour and will go into late afternoon. In addition to the break midway through the clinic, there will  be another break prior to the start of live matches. Please send a small snack for your child to eat if you think they will be hungry at that time.

LIVE Matches: Approximate Start time 4:30

1. Pairings will be created similar to how they are for youth tournaments throughout the season. We will do our best to create matchups with other athletes of similar skill level and weight.
2. It is our hope we can get each wrestler at least 2 matches. However, we will not know this until final registration numbers are complete and weights are accounted for  at check in.
3. These matches will NOT be on Trackwrestling and the score will only be kept at the table, so the girls can know where they are in the match. There will not be brackets set up but rather pairings. The intent of these matches is to get the girls additional mat time and live wrestling experience.
4. ONLY CLINIC COACHES AND ATHLETES ARE ALLOWED TO BE AT MAT SIDE. However, parents are welcome to stay and watch in the bleachers during these matches.
   1. An important part of athlete development is allowing the athlete to manage their own matches.
   2. If your athlete is a beginner, clinic coaches will help them at mat side.
5. Please fill out the skill level of your wrestler on the registration form.
   1. Beginner (New to the sport with little to no matches or record below .500)
   2. Average (Previous experience with record around .500)
   3. Good (Winning record)
   4. Excellent (Experienced higher level wrestler)
