Event Description
Track & Field Camp
This camp will break into six event specific groups of Sprinters, Hurdlers, High Jumpers, Long Jumpers, Pole Vaulters, and Throwers. While rooming, meals and activities will be with the entire group of campers, training/teaching is specific to each event. If kids are interested in more than one group, they can do a secondary event group. We ask that if you want to do a secondary event, kids talk to the that GV camp instructor the day before so you know where that group meets for classroom and warm-up on the track. We will have college coaches from GVSU and around the Midwest overseeing the groups as well as the GVSU team members. This is not a COMPEITION Camp, this is a TEACHING Camp. While some groups will do mini competitions, the goal is to teach technique and give student-athletes tools to bring home to help kids improve. Anyone running over 400M or wanting distance training should NOT come to this camp. The GV Cross Country camp is better suited for distance athletes. GV Track and GV Cross Country camps are totally separate and will not see each other all week.
