Geoscience Research Experience (GEO-REx) | July 8th - 11th
Event Description
Geoscience Research Experience (GEO-REx)
The Boone Pickens School of Geology is offering the Geoscience Research Experience (GEO-REx), a resident camp on the OSU campus for high school students interested in geoscience and working in laboratory and field settings. Students will work closely with faculty performing research projects ranging from wet-lab geochemistry to near-surface geophysics, which will then be presented to an audience, including family, on the last day. The camp will take place from July 8-11 and campers will be provided food and lodging on campus and transportation for field trips. All field trips will be within 1 hour of Stillwater, OK and be overseen by GEO-REx personnel with First Aid and drivers training. Activities will encompass a broad range of geoscience topics, including geology, geophysics, and environmental geoscience, as well as teamwork and research skills.
