Event Description
GYS Basketball
GYS Basketball is a recreational program for boys and girls enrolled in 3rd-6th grade at Gilbert Schools in Gilbert, Iowa. Players who live in the Gilbert school district and attend an area private school or homeschool are also eligible to participate.
All teams are coached by parent volunteers. Practice schedules are determined by coach and gym availability at Gilbert Intermediate and Middle Schools. Teams are part of the Central Iowa Recreation League (CIRL). The league includes Colo-Nesco, Collins Maxwell, Nevada, Roland-Story and South Hamilton. Games will be held in Gilbert and in the CIRL communities.

October 20 - December 20, 2025
Games are held on Saturdays beginning November 1, 2025.
Practices held twice a week Monday-Friday at 6:00 p.m. or later. Practice schedules are determined by coach and gym availability.
3rd/4th Grade
November 17, 2025 - January 24, 2026
Games are held on Saturdays beginning December 6, 2025
Practices held twice a week Monday-Friday at 6:00 p.m. or later. Practice schedules are determined by coach and gym availability.
GYS offers need-based scholarships to cover registration fees.
