Lawrence Summer Music Institute
(for advanced high school pianists and string players)

Note: This program is for advanced high school pianists and string players currently in grades 8 through 12.
If you are in college or older, please apply to the Lawrence Chamber Music Festival.

Event Registration Details
July 5th - 12th, 2026

Who Can Apply: Pianists and string players currently in 8th through 12th grades may apply.
(8th through 12th grade; possible exceptions for advanced students who are a bit younger)


Tuition: $950
Lodging: $335
Meals: $290

Application cut-off date: 6/1/2026

Locations: All Conservatory facilities, access to Wellness Center, assigned dorms, Warch Center

*Applications are open for piano, violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

Applicants will submit two links to live, unedited videos of two contrasting works. Applications will be reviewed and you will be notified of your acceptance into the program on a rolling basis until program is filled.

High-school-aged instrumentalists participate in an exciting week-long workshop focusing on building classical performance and chamber music skills. The Summer Music Institute will feature private lessons, group coaching, performance opportunities, and workshops in a collaborative environment with Lawrence Conservatory faculty and guest artists.


Lawrence University highly recommends that all attendees are up-to-date with covid vaccines, but we do not require proof of vaccination for attendees.
