Over the years, the Michigan wrestling program has continued to develop outstanding heavyweights that have succeeded at the national and international level. Heavyweight is the most unique weight class in wrestling as it relates to body type and size/weight variance. With that in mind, the Michigan Heavyweight Camp concentrates on techniques and strategies that have proven successful for heavyweight wrestlers in all three positions: feet, top and bottom. Assisting our camp staff in the week-long instruction will be the current Wolverine and Cliff Keen Wrestling Club heavyweights.

We invite and welcome 220 and 215-pound wrestlers to attend the heavyweight camp and typically have had many over the years. Teaching and learning winning techniques and strategies is our primary focus, but providing a fun “total clinic experience” is also important to our staff. Come join us for a week at the Michigan Heavyweight Camp, and learn to dominate the “Big Boys”!

• One of the top heavyweight camps in the country
• 16 hours of technical instruction, plus 6-8 matches
• Upper and lower body techniques and tactics
• Exposure to techniques/training currently used at the elite levels of wrestling
• Versatility in offensive and counter-offensive attacks will be stressed
• Organized drilling, sparring, and position wrestling
• Competitive live, situational and position wrestling

Discounts:

Team Discount: Teams attending camp with 10 or more wrestlers are eligible for the following discounts. Please email Jeanne Loveland at umwrestlingcamps@gmail.com with the names of the prospective wrestlers you will have attending camps to receive a discount code to enter when registering.

•  10 - 19 Wrestlers: $15 savings per wrestler
•  20 or more Wrestlers: $20 savings per wrestler
•  Multiple Camp Discount: Wrestlers who attend multiple camps will receive an additional $35 discount off their subsequent camp(s).
  **To receive the multiple camp discount you must have both camps loaded into the cart at the time of check out.
•  Sibling Discount: Families who send multiple children to camp will receive a $35 discount on second and subsequent siblings.
  **To receive the sibling discount, both campers must be in the same cart at the time of check out.

Commuter Only: This year's camps will be COMMUTER ONLY.  Dorms are not available for camps this summer.  Campers will be responsible for their own transportation, hotel accommodations and meals. Click here for Travel Resources.

Refund Policy: There is a non-refundable $50 Deposit, plus an online processing fee due upon registration. Cancellations and request for refund for the registration cost beyond the deposit+processing fees must be emailed to umwrestlingcamps@gmail.com, 2 weeks prior to the start date of the camp. No money will be refunded after the 2 week point or after the start date of camp.
