WIDE RECEIVER / DEFENSIVE BACK ACADEMY |
Join the UW-Oshkosh football staff for an elite training experience focused solely on Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs! This camp is designed for athletes of all skill levels looking to sharpen their route-running, release work, ball skills, and coverage techniques to dominate on the perimeter. With a dedicated focus on position-specific development and a strong coach-to-player ratio, athletes receive individualized instruction to maximize their growth. This added layer of instruction allows players to gain a better understanding of hip fluidity, hand-eye coordination, leverage in coverage, and explosive movement patterns. This is a great opportunity to train, sharpen your fundamentals, and compete alongside other motivated skill players while learning from a highly respected college coaching staff.

Average bubble temperature is mid 50’s so please dress accordingly. Spectators should bring their own chairs
WHAT TO BRING: Water Bottle, Cleats, Athletic Attire, Helmet (recommended but not required)
CAMP FOCUS
- Route Running (WR) → Stalk, speed cuts, breaks, double moves, releases vs. press, stem control, and top-of-route finishes
- Ball Skills (WR) → Tracking deep balls, contested catches, high-pointing, adjusting to off-target throws, and hand-eye drills
- Releases & Separation (WR) → Footwork off the line, hand fighting, body positioning, and creating leverage
- Man Coverage (DB) → Backpedal, weave/run, press technique, bail, trail, and mirroring releases
- Zone Coverage (DB) → Vision, depth, pattern reading, breaks on the ball, and tackling in space
- Footwork & Hips → Speed turns, pedal efficiency, change of direction, sink/run, and explosive closing speed
- Ball Skills (DB) → Locating, playing the ball at the highest point, high-point interceptions, and punch/timing on the catch point
- Competitive 1-on-1s → Live reps in man and zone situations, route vs. coverage matchups
CAMP HIGHLIGHTS
- Position-specific drills led by UW-Oshkosh football staff and current players
- Detailed instruction on both route-running and coverage fundamentals
- Technical skill work for releases, breaks, ball tracking, and finishing plays
- Competitive 1-on-1 periods with live reps
- Hands-on teaching in a college football environment
NOTE: All campers must comply with the rules and regulations of Oshkosh Football Camps. Any serious violations or abuses will result in immediate dismissal from camp without refund.
ABOUT OSHKOSH: All sports camps will be on the scenic Oshkosh campus, located on the Fox River near Lake Winnebago. Campers will be housed in one of our residence halls located near Kolf Sports Center. All are located along High Ave. All entrances to the city have signs directing visitors to campus. Oshkosh is located in Eastern Wisconsin and is easily accessible via car, using U.S. Highway 41 or State Highway 21. Oshkosh is 50 miles from Green Bay, 85 miles from Milwaukee and Madison, and 150 miles from Chicago. The Oshkosh Summer Sports Camp Program is one of the fastest growing in the nation with more than 25,000 satisfied campers in the past 20 seasons.
