Spring Baking Series
We are bringing you these classes by special request from the participants in our fall classes! You can sign up for one, two or all three classes! Our instructor, Pam Rivers, is a retired Home Ec teacher and has been the Superintendent of Open Culinary Events at the Fremont County Fair for many years. Participants will prepare the following treats that you will take home to enjoy or share with your family and friends.
Savory Eggs Benedict: Master the preparation and baking of the savory breakfast favorite, Eggs Benedict, from scratch. Along with the Eggs Benedict, you will also learn to make a delectable, rich and creamy hollandaise sauce. Spaces are limited for these popular classes, so get registered early.
Baked Alaska Ice Cream Dessert: Baked Alaska is a delectable dessert featuring ice cream and cake completely covered in a browned meringue. The contrast between the warm exterior and cold interior is sure to please your palate and impress your family. Students are asked to bring a baking sheet for this class. Spaces are limited so register early.
Angel Food Cake: Making an angel food cake from scratch will result in a light, airy, and fluffy dessert. You will master the important parts of properly whipping egg whites and gently folding in the dry ingredients. Students will need to bring an angel food cake pan with a removable bottom. Our instructor can order the pans for $12 if you notify R Recreation at least two weeks in advance. Spaces are limited so register early.
