Alliance Playing Rules - Alliance National Event Rules and Policies
All Prime Sports (PSP) events follow Alliance Fastpitch playing and roster rules.
Pitching Rules
Universal Pitching Modification is in effect → current NCAA pitching rules are used.
Sanction & Event Types
Prime Sports is not a sanctioning body.
Prime Sports' focus is to provide a platform for the highest level of softball competition without requiring sanction memberships for all events. Teams must carry and provide team insurance information in the registration process.
Alliance National Qualifiers & Championships: Must follow full Alliance requirements and roster rules.
Other PSP Events (non-qualifiers, showcases, local tournaments, etc.):
- No Formal Roster Requirements
- Players must be age eligible
- In bracket play or seeding games, players may only play for one team
Roster & Eligibility Rules
Age Eligibility: Prospect Wire follows Alliance’s age cutoff rule:
- Age is determined as of August 31, 2026, for the 2026–2027 season.
- Example: A player’s age on 8/31/26 sets their eligible division.
Dual Team Participation: A player may not appear on two rosters within the same event.
- Violations: Any team using an ineligible player or a player already playing on another team risks:
- Removal from the event.
- Potential ban from future events.
Enforcement
Event staff may check rosters and eligibility.
Violations can result in team disqualification.
College Coaches & Recruiting Rosters
PSP events are structured with college coach visibility in mind.
Event Beacon - SportsRecruits, Prime Sports' exclusive recruiting partner, manages roster collection for all PSP events where college coaches may attend.
Recruiting Roster Details:
- Rosters are submitted through EventBeacon / SportsRecruits.
- Example link: Rostering Tool | SportsRecruits
- Teams will receive an email from rostering@sportsrecruits.com with instructions.
- Only teams that complete this process will be visible to college coaches at the event.
- After submission, SportsRecruits will provide athletes and families with free access to a SportsRecruits profile if they don’t already have one.
- EventBeacon allows college coaches to check in at events, track games live, and view player data in real time.
Important Notes:
- PSP only provides a college coach list when attendance is confirmed through event participation or camp staffing.
- EventBeacon enables tracking of past coach attendance and activity.
- Participation in SportsRecruits rostering is optional, but teams that do not submit rosters will not have player information available to college coaches at the event.
Clarification:
- The SportsRecruits roster is for college coach recruiting access only.
- It does not serve as an official event roster or championship roster.
- Only championships or qualifiers require official Alliance rosters (via Alliance team roster or Tourney Machine invite).
Summary for Teams
- Qualifiers & Championships → Must submit Alliance-compliant rosters.
- Regular PSP showcases or local tournaments → No roster submission required; only restrictions are:
- Alliance age cutoff (Sept. 1).
- One team per player per event.
- Recruiting Rosters (SportsRecruits / EventBeacon) → Optional but required for visibility to college coaches.
Camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender)
