Event Description

GVSU Laker WRESTLING CAMPS

Takedown & Transition Camp

Train how Collegiate wrestlers score

Build the skills that create scoring opportunities:

Develop confident, effective neutral wrestling through high-level instruction in takedowns, re-attacks, and counter-offense. Athletes will learn how to connect attacks, finish positions, and wrestle with purpose in live situations.

Camp Focus:

  • Creating and controlling ties
  • High- and low-level takedown entries
  • Finishing single legs, doubles, and high crotches
  • Re-attacks and counter-offense
  • Chain wrestling and positional awareness

Instruction blends technical teaching, organized drilling, and controlled live wrestling to ensure skills transfer directly to competition.

Train in a Collegiate Environment:

Campers will train inside Grand Valley State University’s state-of-the-art athletic facilities and receive a guided tour of campus and wrestling-related spaces. Athletes will experience firsthand what it’s like to train and prepare in a collegiate environment.
