Train heavyweight-specific skills that win matches:
The GVSU Heavyweight Wrestling Camp is designed exclusively for heavyweight wrestlers and focuses on the unique techniques, positions, and strategies required to score and control matches at the upper weights.
Athletes will receive high-level instruction tailored specifically to heavyweight wrestling, emphasizing efficient movement, strong positioning, and smart scoring from the top position and neutral attacks.
Camp Focus:
- Scoring and control from the top position
- Riding strategies and breakdowns for heavyweights
- Set-ups and attacks designed for upper-weight wrestlers
- Creating scoring opportunities without overexposure
- Applying technique through drilling and live situations
Instruction blends technical teaching, organized drilling, and controlled live wrestling to ensure athletes develop skills that translate directly to competition.

Train in a Collegiate Environment:
Campers will train inside Grand Valley State University’s state-of-the-art athletic facilities and receive a guided tour of campus and wrestling-related spaces. Athletes will gain firsthand exposure to the collegiate training environment while working with elite heavyweight clinicians.

- Grand Valley State University Wrestling Facilities | Allendale, Michigan
Schedule:
- Check-In: 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM (Day 1 only)
- Session 1: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Lunch: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (athletes provide their own lunch)
- Session 2: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Parents are welcomed to observe all sessions.
Open to any and all entrants; limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender.
