Event Description

Get It Done: Organization & Planning Skills

 

Led by Dr. Bryan Shippey

Explore how AI can amplify your creativity! High school students (ages 15+) will use AI tools to create original music, images, videos, and written content. Through hands-on projects, students will build a creative portfolio while exploring the ethical side of AI, including bias, fairness, and sustainability. This camp combines creativity with technology to help students discover new possibilities and develop marketable skills for the future.

Learning Objectives:

Objective 1: Creative Exploration with AI Students will experiment with AI tools to create original works, including music, images, videos, and written content, developing confidence in using technology as a creative partner.

Objective 2: Designing and Showcasing AI Creations Students will plan, produce, and present a portfolio of AI-generated projects, demonstrating their ability to combine technical skills with artistic vision in a fun and engaging way.
 
Objective 3: Responsible and Informed Use of AI Students will discuss and reflect on the ethical, societal, and environmental implications of AI, including bias, fairness, and sustainability, and identify ways to use AI responsibly in creative contexts.

Technology Requirements

Participants are required to bring a laptop or Chromebook capable of accessing web-based applications. Smartphones alone are not sufficient. Tablets may be used but may limit functionality for some activities.

AI Usage:

As part of this program, students will use age-appropriate, web-based artificial intelligence tools for creative and educational purposes (such as generating images, music, videos, or written content). These tools will be used under instructor supervision, with an emphasis on responsible, ethical, and safe use. Students will not be asked to share personal information, and activities will be designed for educational enrichment rather than public publication.

  • Students will receive a digital certificate of completion to showcase their new skills and add to college applications.
