SRU Jazz Academy

The SRU Summer Jazz Academy provides a rich and entertaining jazz experience for a variety of ages and abilities. Every year, the camp hosts students who have participated in all-state honors ensembles, as well as young players looking to gain knowledge and experience.

Students enjoy a busy schedule that involves big band, jazz combo, improvisation, jazz theory, jazz history, and lessons/master classes on individual instruments. Also, a longstanding tradition of this camp is the annual dodgeball game, which is a great break from jazz study!
