WVB POSITIONAL SKILLS CAMPS

Pins Hitters & Defensive Specialists

Pin Hitters (Outside & Right Side)

Fundamental Attacking Technique – Learn proper footwork for your approach, strong arm swing mechanics, and consistent contact points to become a reliable and efficient attacker.

Serve Receive Fundamentals (Outsides) – Develop solid passing platform control, footwork, and ball tracking so you can handle serve receive with confidence and consistency.

Shot Selection & Smart Decision-Making – Understand how to read blockers and defenders, choose high-percentage shots, and manage out-of-system swings.

Transition & Timing – Practice moving seamlessly from serve receive or defense into your approach while maintaining rhythm and balance.

Defensive Responsibilities – Improve back-row positioning, digging technique, and court awareness so you contribute in every rotation.

Building Confidence Under Pressure – Develop mental toughness and composure to swing aggressively and confidently in key moments.


Defensive Specialists / Liberos

Passing Platform Fundamentals – Master body positioning, platform angles, and footwork to deliver consistent, target-focused passes.

Defensive Technique & Ball Control – Learn proper digging form, emergency defensive moves, and how to control hard-driven attacks.

Serve Receive Communication – Practice taking charge of the backcourt with confident calls, seam responsibility, and leadership in serve receive patterns.

Reading the Game – Develop the ability to anticipate hitters’ tendencies, recognize offensive patterns, and position yourself before the attack happens.

Movement & Agility Training – Improve quickness, balance, and reaction time to cover more court efficiently.

Building Leadership & Composure – Strengthen your voice and presence on the court, becoming the steady, reliable anchor of your team’s defense.
