Event Description

Tar Heel Rowing Camps | July 19th - 22nd, 2026

Tar Heel Rowing Camps is an elite, college-level training experience designed for highly motivated high school rowers looking to train in a true Division I environment. This camp is intended for athletes that have had at least one season of rowing, and is NOT a learn to row. Hosted in Chapel Hill and modeled after the training of University of North Carolina Rowing, this camp provides athletes with a firsthand look at collegiate rowing.

Over three intensive days, campers follow a structured schedule that mirrors the rhythm and expectations of a college rowing program, combining technical instruction, physical training, and exposure to student-athlete life.

Coxswain registration will be limited based on the number of rowers attending camp

Pricing

  • $1,065 per athlete ($1,000 + $65 Fees)
  • The camp fee includes:
    • All coaching and training sessions
    • Facility access (erg room, weight room, and rowing venue)
    • Provided meals (as outlined in schedule)
    • Camp transportation between campus, hotel, and training site picking up and dropping back off

Housing is not included in the camp fee. Athletes will stay in a designated blocked hotels. (View Accommodations page for more info)

Camp Experience

The camp begins Sunday evening with check-in and orientation.

  • Monday introduces athletes to the Carolina training environment with an erg session, technical instruction, and a structured lift. Athletes will also participate in an extended on-the-water practice in the afternoon. Supervised campus time and meals are built into the day to provide time to explore the campus and athletic facilities.
  • Tuesday is a full training day featuring a morning session, followed by brunch on Franklin Street. Athletes will hear from current student-athletes and guest speakers on topics such as nutrition, recruiting, and the current student-athlete experience. The afternoon includes an additional erg session, with supervised free time for dinner.
  • Wednesday concludes the camp with a final morning water session, breakfast, and a wrap-up meeting reviewing key takeaways and next steps in athlete development. Camp ends late morning, and campers will be picked up.
